Alternate Job Title: Portable Sanitation Driver
Job Summary: The Pump Truck Driver/Operator operates the pump truck on pre-determined routes, controlling the truck's pump or similar equipment to collect waste from portable sanitation units and deposit their contents into the truck.
Job Classification: Full-time amp; Part-time; non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Location: Rosharon, TX area
Pay Range: $18 to $24
Responsibilities:
  • Operates pump truck on a pre-determined route; safely controls the pump as required to collect receptacles and deposit their contents in the truck.
  • Performs and documents pre-operation safety checks on the vehicle prior to embarking on the route.
  • Refuels the truck and performs basic maintenance.
  • Facilitates proper maintenance and mechanical service on the truck by appropriate mechanics.
  • Transports waste to the proper location for processing and/or disposal.
  • Notifies dispatchers and/or supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or other issues and documents the same.
  • Maintains logs of pickup times, daily mileage, and dump logs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must be able to pull trailers
  • 3 years of required commercial driving experience, 5 years required
  • Must be at least 25 years of age or older, due to insurance requirements for operating company vehicles.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends during the Storm season.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A valid Driver’s License or similar classification to operate a pump truck is required.
  • Ability to work overtime (nights and weekends) when needed.
  • Ability to work and drive in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be located in the Rosharon, TX Area
