Job description

Lead team in completing production orders and delivering quality parts in a safe, productive manner and on time. Responsible for keeping shop operating efficiently, managing inventory and people to reach production target. Must be able to set up equipment and problem solve issues in department and communicate with other team leads as well as engineering and management. Manage team performance and compliance with Webster's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet production deadlines while achieving quality and safety standard.
  • Uses various power and hand tools such as orbital sander/buffer, chop saw, bench grinder, nail gun, staple gun, pliers, drill, hammer, wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Complies with all safety rules and standards and reports to his supervisor any condition out of his control.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, orderly and functional work area at all times.
  • Performs user maintenance on all machines and equipment.
  • Work must conform to Webster Engineering quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained.
  • Feedback to the Operations Manager to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements
  • Provide training and expertise to the team.
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 Years Team Lead or Burner Assembly Experience
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Able to read and understand wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Able to use small power tools such as drills and screw guns.
  • Able to use hand tools such as hacksaw, tube cutter, bender, pliers, wire strippers, tape measure, hammer, wrenches, hole punch, and screwdrivers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. daily.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuitry.

Physical Demands
  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move upwards of 50 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and a plant which is not temperature controlled.
  • Inside Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud.
  • In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
