Mining Shift Supervisor - Nights

We are a fully integrated sand supply and services company, offering complete sand, logistics, storage, and management solutions to our customers with our in-basin trans-loading terminals and our smartsystem storage capabilities. We own and operate premium frac sand mines and related processing facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois, which have access to three Class I rail lines, allowing us to deliver products substantially anywhere in the United States and Canada.
We are currently looking for individuals to join our Mining team as a Mining Shift Supervisor - Nights.
This position is responsible for leading the mine and heavy equipment team in operating in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally controlled manner. The Shift Supervisor is the first point of contact for questions, issues, or concerns among the crew. This role leads a team that includes all areas of mine operations on their shift.
The position will work under the supervision of the Mine Superintendent; however, will require taking direction from other Smart Sand managers. This position is based primarily at our Oakdale, WI facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads a crew on an assigned shift by priority of jobs.
- Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Operates trucks and construction or power equipment, such backhoe, dump truck, snowplow, road grater, front-end loader, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers.
- May build, level and excavate land surfaces using graders and other equipment. Works with employees on job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; assists with disciplining employees.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Works cooperatively to comply with facility-wide environmental and quality management systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

- Effectively trains, coaches, disciplines and develops employees to achieve and maintain positive working relationships.
- Communicates with other Shift Supervisors and members of management.
- Must be able to effectively enforce systems, policies, and procedures
- Accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow.
- Supervises heavy equipment staff.
- Participates in performance reviews with the plant management.
- Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization.
- Schedules and meets deadlines, adheres to policies and procedures and maintains a good attendance/tardiness record.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as an Equipment Operator required.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Valid driver license and clean Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR).
- MSHA training and experience required.
