The Party Staff, Inc. is the West Coast’s leading hospitality staffing company with more than 36 years of experience. We partner with hotels, caterers, private clubs, corporate campuses, and event venues to provide professional front-of-house support. Due to continued growth in the San Jose and South Bay market, we are expanding our service team and seeking polished, reliable event servers.

Position Summary
The Event Server provides professional front-of-house service for a variety of events including corporate functions, conferences, weddings, galas, fundraisers, and private events. This is a flexible, on-call position ideal for hospitality professionals who enjoy variety, take pride in guest service, and are dependable in fast-paced event environments throughout San Jose and the South Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional banquet-style service including tray passing, buffet assistance, table service, and event breakdown
• Greet guests and maintain a polished, professional presence throughout events
• Set up and break down banquet tables, linens, glassware, flatware, and service stations
• Follow event timelines and direction from onsite captains, leads, and client representatives
• Deliver a high-quality guest experience with strong attention to detail
• Carry and serve trays of plated meals or beverages safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and adapt to changing event needs
• Follow all venue and company guidelines related to safety, sanitation, and uniform standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of banquet service, catering, or restaurant service experience preferred
• Ability to perform tray passing and banquet-style service
• California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Reliable transportation to travel to event locations throughout San Jose and the South Bay Area
• Strong communication, professionalism, and customer service skills
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 6–10 hours per shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor event environments, including varying weather conditions

Work Environment

• Team-based event service environment with direction from captains and clients
• High-energy events with fluctuating pace and guest volume
• Assignments distributed through mobile scheduling; flexibility is essential

Compensation

• Hourly pay rates: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience and event
