Job description

The Quality Manager is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities


•    Devise and establish facility's quality procedures, standards and specifications to ensure that manufacturing or production processes meet industry standards
•    Reviewing customer requirements and making sure they are met
•    Review, disposition and address customer claims, including customer facing communication
•    Support and facilitate approve, monitor and follow up of External suppliers alongside Supply chain team members
•    Drive continuous improvement in waste reduction and efficiency improvements by facilitating cross-functional specific issue and trend data review                       discussions and providing suggestions and support for improvements
•    Drive improvement through direct project ownership
•    Defining and refining procedures in conjunction with operating staff
•    Manage document control process
•    Develop performance monitoring process and metrics
•    Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
•    Lead weekly and monthly Quality review processes
•    Mentor direct reports as well as other leaders in use of problem solving and improvement tools (RCA, Kaizen, A3, LPA, Control Plan, Standard Work, FAI)
•    Making sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors
•    Lead a team of Quality engineers and technicians
•    Provide Change Management support for process and product testing and changes, including being site representative in Global Change Review process
•    Mentor goal setting based on performance for direct reports and Quality metrics
•    Support Production needs during times of sparse supervisory coverage
•    Lead facility tours as needed
•    Support New hire onboarding process
 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
•    Basic quality system knowledge (Document Controls, process audits, SPC, Sampling plans)
•    Demonstrated use of Quality / Six Sigma tools
•    Strong Lean advocate, highly comfortable with Lean Systems, Lean Management and Standard Work

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the Engineering field (or Associate Degree plus 4 years practical experience)
•    Six Sigma or Lean GB certification highly desired
•    Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Auditor/Engineer certification from ASQ desired
•    Minimum of 4 years’ experience Leading a Quality Management System and/or Team
•    Experience operating in a QMS environment, preferably with experience in the implementation stages
