Turner Staffing Group is partnering with our client, a minerals testing laboratory in Kershaw, SC, to find a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician. In this role, you'll process client samples from preparation through analysis, playing a hands-on part in delivering accurate, high-quality results in a fast-paced lab environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys precise, methodical work and wants to build a career in laboratory and minerals testing operations.

What You'll Do

Sample Processing & Analysis

Prepare and process samples using approved digestion and dissolution methods, following documented lab procedures.

Perform primary crushing, riffle splitting, subsampling, sieving, compositing, and racking of samples.

Operate laboratory equipment, including Orbis crushers and LM2 pulverisers, in line with training and safe work procedures.

Accurately weigh and prepare samples for a range of analytical testing methods.

Work independently once trained, managing multiple jobs to meet operational priorities and deadlines.

Quality & Recordkeeping

Maintain accurate laboratory worksheets and update spreadsheets and tracking systems.

Support quality control efforts and escalate non-conformances following lab procedures.

Keep quality records current and aligned with the lab's quality management system.

Perform routine housekeeping and equipment maintenance to keep the lab clean and contamination-free.

Safety & Team Collaboration

Participate in daily pre-start meetings, shift handovers, and safety discussions.

Follow all safety procedures and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Identify and report hazards, and take appropriate action to reduce risk.

Support and mentor teammates, sharing knowledge as your experience grows.

What You Bring

High school diploma / Year 12 certificate or equivalent.

Prior experience in a minerals or analytical laboratory preferred, including sample preparation and lab data entry.

Familiarity with laboratory procedures, standards, and quality systems.

Strong attention to detail and solid basic lab bench skills, including accurate pipetting and contamination prevention.

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills for recordkeeping and reporting.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Valid driver's license; forklift license a plus.

Comfortable working in a remote-site or rotating-roster laboratory environment.

Why This Role

Build hands-on experience in a specialized minerals testing laboratory.

Work with modern lab equipment and gain exposure to industry-standard quality systems.

Grow into more advanced technical and leadership responsibilities as you develop your skills.

Join a collaborative team environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.
