SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Collective Impact Coordinator advances the Area Foundation’s community impact strategies by coordinating cross-sector efforts that drive alignment, shared action, and systems change. This role supports the implementation and ongoing coordination of collective impact initiatives that engage nonprofit, public, and community partners around common goals, recognizing the value of inclusive approaches that reflect the experiences of people across the lifespan.

A central component of this work includes supporting the Foundation’s in-house collective impact initiative, Successfully Aging and Living in San Antonio (SALSA), which advances community priorities related to caregiving, housing, transportation, and social connection. This work supports strategies that strengthen connection and well-being within and across generations. The coordinator strengthens partner alignment, supports shared measurement and learning, and ensures effective coordination across initiatives. This position requires strong project management, relationship stewardship, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex and evolving ecosystem of partners and priorities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support implementation of collective impact strategies by coordinating projects, partner activities, and cross-sector initiatives aligned with community priorities.

• Convene and support partners through meetings, workgroups, and learning sessions that foster alignment, shared accountability, and coordinated action.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit, public sector, and community stakeholders, reinforcing trust-based partnerships and shared ownership of outcomes.

• Provide coordination and light-touch coaching to partners, helping organizations connect to resources, navigate collaborative work, and make progress toward shared goals.

• Support shared measurement efforts by coordinating data collection, tracking progress, and contributing to learning cycles that inform strategy and continuous improvement.

• Assist in translating community priorities into practical tools, resources, and communications that support partner engagement and community-wide understanding.

• Represent the Foundation in community meetings, presentations, and convenings, helping connect efforts across initiatives and sectors.

• Maintain systems and tools that support collaborative work, including partner databases, project tracking platforms, and documentation of activities and learnings.

• Support the growth and development of the Foundation's membership program by assisting with member communications, coordinating membership benefits for aging services organizations, and tracking member engagement in SALSA-related activities.

• Work across departments to support aligned strategies through Collaborative Business Planning (CBP), contributing to organization-wide priorities and cross-functional coordination.

• Contribute to an adaptive, learning-oriented culture by supporting reflection, feedback, and evolving approaches to systems change and community impact.

• Support collective impact initiatives focused on aging and related priorities (e.g., caregiving, housing, social connection), while maintaining flexibility to engage across additional focus areas over time.

• Demonstrate adaptability and openness to evolving tools, technologies, and approaches that strengthen collaboration and impact.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project coordination, program management, or community-based initiatives, preferably in the nonprofit or public sector.

• Experience working in collaborative environments, partnerships, or cross-sector initiatives preferred.

• Familiarity with collective impact, community engagement, or systems change approaches is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse partners and stakeholders.

• Ability to facilitate collaboration and support partners in a respectful, trust-based manner.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving initiatives.

• Experience with data tracking, evaluation, or shared measurement practices preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Basecamp, Monday.com).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while contributing to team and organizational goals.

• Interest in community-based work, aging, intergenerational connection, and/or population-level impact.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
