They design and execute test plans, identify bugs, and work closely with developers and business analysts to deliver reliable Salesforce solutions. Their work includes both manual and automated testing, with a focus on validating customizations, integrations, and data flows. Salesforce QA Engineers also help maintain documentation and ensure that releases meet business and technical requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce QA engineer?

To thrive as a Salesforce QA Engineer, you need a solid understanding of Salesforce platform functionality, software testing methodologies, and proficiency in writing test cases, often supported by a degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, Salesforce-specific tools like Apex and Lightning, and relevant certifications like Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder or QA certifications are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues efficiently. These competencies ensure the delivery of high-quality Salesforce applications that meet business requirements and function reliably for end users.
