Salesforce Platform Developer II
Hybrid - Nashville, Tennessee

Job Summary
  • The Salesforce Platform Developer II serves as a senior technical resource and trusted advisor for Salesforce development efforts. This position provides expert guidance on coding standards, scalable solution design, and development best practices to agency and departmental Salesforce development teams. The role supports 11 statewide Salesforce orgs leveraging Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud and Sales Cloud, each with unique business processes and implementation complexity.
The Developer II ensures custom development aligns with governance, architectural direction, and security standards. This position collaborates closely with agency development teams, vendor partners, and internal Salesforce org owners to deliver secure, maintainable, and highquality solutions that support critical services for client users. Public sector experience and familiarity with multiorg environments are preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertlevel technical guidance and oversight for agency and departmental Salesforce development teams.
  • Review and advise on Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, and integration patterns to ensure quality and scalability.
  • Translate complex business requirements into secure, highperforming, and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Ensure all custom development adheres to coding standards, governance practices, and platform security requirements.
  • Support development efforts across multiple Salesforce orgs with varying architectures and solution components.
  • Serve as a lead technical resource for complex enhancements and custom development initiatives.
  • Evaluate vendor development deliverables for quality, technical accuracy, and longterm sustainability.
  • Participate in release planning, code reviews, testing coordination, and deployment activities.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for debugging, performance optimization, and integration troubleshooting.
  • Document technical designs, solution recommendations, and development patterns.
  • Stay informed on new Salesforce capabilities, release updates, and industry best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expert proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, integrations, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, security models, and governor limits.
  • Experience with development patterns specific to Public Sector Solutions,
  • Experience Cloud, Service Cloud and Sales Cloud.
  • Ability to guide and evaluate development work across multiple teams and Salesforce orgs.
  • Advanced problemsolving and diagnostic skills for complex technical issues.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, CI/CD processes, version control, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with agency teams, internal partners, and vendor developers.
Experience and Education:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of professional Salesforce development experience is required. Experience in public sector or multiorg Salesforce environments is preferred.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is required or must be obtained within the established timeframe.
