Job description

Big Ass Who?

We didn't set out to start a fan company. We set out to solve a problem-workplace discomfort. (Sorry, HR, not your kind.) Facilities become furnaces during the summer, but businesses still expect peak performance and productivity. Without providing the basic human right of comfort, that's just asinine. Seeing how overhead fans cooled California dairy cows begged a massive question for our founder. "Can a fan be made to revolutionize comfort for people?" he uttered.

That's when the HVLS Fan Company was born-with the first-ever patented high-volume, low-speed fan. But that name? BOR-ing. And customers knew it. We kept getting calls asking, "Are you the guys who make those big ass fans?" Hell yeah, we are. And Big Ass Fans was born, complete with our own cheeky donkey mascot, Fanny. Today, we don't just move air, we transform experiences. Big Ass Fans deliver comfort where it counts. We build every product like lives depend on it. Because, turns out, they do.

Our success is a result of the Big Ass Fans team's innovation. Are you seeking an opportunity to work with extraordinary people with an entrepreneurial spirit? Do you have something that sets you apart from the rest? With a bias for action, we want you to #livelifebigass and bring the next great BAF product to market. From our customers to our employees, we are passionate about what we can accomplish together. The successful candidate will bring passion, energy, and a "get it done" mentality to BAF and the industrial business and contribute in a meaningful way to realize the company's full potential in the market.

Opportunity

The ERP Manager owns the day-to-day health and strategic evolution of our Epicor Kinetic SaaS ERP platform. As a key IT leader, this role partners with Operations, Finance, Sales and Customer Service to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable processes while leading high-impact initiatives that improve user experience and data integrity. You will manage a roadmap of Kinetic modernization, security/controls redesign, and business-critical integrations. Success requires strong project leadership, hands-on Epicor expertise, and the ability to coordinate internal stakeholders and 3rd party providers.

What You'll Do

You will lead ERP operations and projects across Epicor Kinetic (SaaS), partnering with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing and financial processes while maintaining strong controls in a SOX-regulated environment.

  • Own the Epicor Kinetic (SaaS) application roadmap, platform health, and release planning, including coordination of Epicor updates and regression testing.
  • Lead the upgrade of customized Epicor Classic screens to Kinetic screens, including requirements gathering, design, build/configuration, testing, and user adoption.
  • Redesign Epicor security to meet IT General Controls (ITGC) and Segregation of Duties (SoD) requirements, including role design, access provisioning workflows, and periodic access reviews.
  • Serve as a key partner for SOX compliance by supporting control design, evidence collection, audit requests, and remediation of control deficiencies related to ERP processes.
  • Manage ERP integrations and automation initiatives, including integrations with Salesforce focused on orders, case, and warranty management (data flows, ownership, monitoring, and issue resolution).
  • Partner with key stakeholders to optimize end-to-end processes (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory/WIP, costing, close, and reporting) within standard Epicor.
  • Provide project management for ERP initiatives: scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, risk management, change management, and executive communication.
  • Manage and hold accountable 3rd party providers (implementation partners, developers, and integration vendors) through clear requirements, deliverables, testing standards, and SLAs.
  • Establish and maintain ERP documentation, including process maps, role/security matrices, integration runbooks, and support procedures; provide training and knowledge transfer.
  • Drive continuous improvement through metrics and monitoring (system availability, ticket trends, cycle times, close duration, integration failures) and prioritize corrective actions.

What You'll Bring

The requirements below reflect the skills needed to successfully lead an Epicor Kinetic (SaaS) ERP environment, deliver cross-functional projects, and operate effectively in a SOX-regulated control environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of ERP experience, including hands-on Epicor Kinetic in a SaaS environment (administration, configuration, and delivery of enhancements)
  • Must be able to work On-site in Lexington, KY
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Epicor in a manufacturing environment (production, inventory, planning, order management) and partnering with Finance (GL, AP/AR, costing, close)
  • Experience operating in a regulated SOX environment, including ITGC concepts, access controls, evidence collection, and audit support
  • Proven ability to redesign and administer ERP security to meet Segregation of Duties requirements (role-based access, provisioning workflows, periodic reviews)
  • Project management experience delivering ERP initiatives end-to-end (scope, schedule, risk, testing, change management, and stakeholder communication)
  • Experience managing 3rd party providers and systems integrators, including SOW management and accountability for timelines and quality
  • Integration and automation experience, including Salesforce integration patterns and workflows (case and warranty management preferred), plus strong troubleshooting skills across integrated systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions and drive adoption through training and documentation

Think you have what it takes, but your background doesn't perfectly align with this role? No sweat! If this position gets your fan spinning, we encourage you to apply and tell us how you'll succeed with your unique skills in your application.

First 90 Days

Every Big Ass Fans employee is essential in working towards the company's growth goals, and no goal is successful without a plan. When you kickstart your BAF journey with a strong 90-day plan, you'll be set up for a great first day, week, month, quarter and beyond! Here's a snapshot of the first 90 days as a BAF ERP Manager:

Days 1-30:

  • Complete your onboarding activities, including a 4-day FANdamentals training to learn about our brand and products at our Headquarters in Lexington, KY.
  • Onboard with IT, Manufacturing, Finance, and Customer Experience teams; review current Epicor Kinetic (SaaS) architecture, environments, support model, and pain points.
  • Inventory customized Classic screens and prioritize candidates for conversion to Kinetic screens; confirm standards for UX, testing, and deployment.
  • Assess current Epicor security model against ITGC and SoD requirements; identify high-risk roles, access gaps, and quick wins.
  • Review existing integrations and automation; document current-state data mappings, owners, monitoring, and failure points.
  • Establish project governance and cadence (status reporting, backlog, change control) and align 3rd party providers to deliverables and timelines.

Days 31-60:

  • Deliver the first wave of converted Kinetic screens (design/build/test) and validate with key user groups; incorporate feedback and refine standards.
  • Define the target Epicor security model: role catalog, least-privilege principles, SoD conflict framework, and provisioning/approval workflow.
  • Partner with SOX stakeholders to confirm control requirements and evidence expectations; begin creating repeatable access review and change documentation.
  • Design the Salesforce integration approach for case and warranty management (process, data mapping, error handling, and monitoring); agree on ownership and SLAs.
  • Stand up an ERP release and testing rhythm aligned to SaaS updates, including regression test scope and stakeholder sign-off.

Days 61-90+:

  • Scale the Classic-to-Kinetic screen modernization plan, publishing a prioritized backlog and delivery schedule with measurable milestones.
  • Implement the redesigned Epicor security roles and provisioning controls; launch periodic access reviews and document the operating procedure for audit readiness.
  • Deliver an initial Salesforce-Epicor case/warranty integration or automation release and establish monitoring, alerting, and support runbooks.
  • Create a 12-month ERP roadmap covering process improvements, reporting, integrations, and compliance commitments; align prioritization with business leadership.
  • Formalize vendor management routines (SOWs, QBRs, KPIs) to ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement.

The Interview Process:

  1. Our First Chat: You'll be speaking with a BAF Recruiter! Here, you'll discuss the opportunity more in-depth and talk through any questions you may have.
  2. Hiring Manager Interview: This will be a virtual interview with the Big Ass Fans VP of IT, and you'll go through all of the in-depth details of the position, day-to-day operations, and learn about the expectations of the role.
  3. The Panel Interview: As a final step, you'll be invited onsite for an in-person interview with a team of cross departmental BAFer's and peers to present your professional background to the group, and individual time to answer specific questions.
