Job description

Director, Solutions Engineering
Application Deadline: 18 September 2026
Department: Product
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Remote - USA
Reporting To: CPO
Compensation: $180,000 - $240,000 / year
Description
ProphetX is America's first sports-native prediction market, officially CFTC-regulated. Our technology allows us to power America's next great asset class, prediction markets, and the key driver behind them, sports event contracts. We have deep regulatory and operational expertise when it comes to sports-focused exchange infrastructure. We hire smart, passionate people and trust them to own their work. We're a remote-based team that values flexibility, clear communication, and doing great work together.
This role is the technical bridge between ProphetX and all of its technology partners. You will be directly responsible for overseeing all integrations with B2B partners, FCMS, Broker Dealers, Clearing Firms, IBs, ISVs, market makers, liquidity partners, marketing affiliates, markets data clients and any other technical integration into our exchange. You'll run technical discovery calls, scope integrations, own the API/FIX/exposure-feed conversations, and stay engaged through onboarding - giving partners a single, consistent technical point of contact from evaluation through go-live, and giving our platform team room to focus on building rather than fielding every integration question. Our current integration engineer will report into this role, consolidating the full partner-integration lifecycle under one owner.
What You'll Own
Client-Facing & Integration Delivery (~60-70% of the role)
  • Serve as the primary technical, client-facing contact for prospective and onboarding partners - demos, technical deep-dives, and RFP/security questionnaires.
  • Scope and own integration plans (API, FIX, webhooks, exposure and settlement feeds) from kickoff through go-live.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues in real time, escalating only what genuinely needs engineering time.
  • Flag regulatory/compliance touchpoints relevant to CFTC-regulated DCM operations during partner onboarding, in partnership with Legal/Compliance.

Solutions Architecture & Technical Strategy (~30-40% of the role)
  • Translate partner requirements into technical specs for Engineering, and translate platform constraints back into partner-friendly language.
  • Own the design decisions behind how integrations are architected, not just how they're supported, so patterns are reusable across partners rather than bespoke each time.
  • Maintain integration documentation, sandbox environments, and reusable onboarding playbooks so future integrations take less hand-holding.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or client-facing integration engineering role.
  • Direct experience at a traditional financial institution, exchange, broker-dealer, or trading venue (equities, futures, FX, or derivatives).
  • Comfortable reading/writing API docs, FIX specs, and webhook-based integrations; scripting ability (Python/JS) for test harnesses and demos.
  • Track record of owning the full client technical relationship - not just handing off after the sale.
  • Owning and growing API documentation through ReadMe, along with a supporting team underneath
  • Working knowledge of CFTC regulatory structure (DCM/DCO obligations, reporting, market makers, FCMs & IBs, FIX engines) - genuinely rare, and genuinely valued given ProphetX operates as a CFTC-regulated exchange.
  • Prior sports-betting, prediction-market, or gaming-industry exposure.
  • Security/compliance-adjacent background - that discipline (control frameworks, documentation rigor) transfers well into this role.
  • Experience standing up an SE function from scratch at an early-stage company.

Benefits
Compensation & Ownership
  • Competitive compensation aligned to role and market
  • Equity opportunities so you share in what we're building
  • A clear connection between impact and reward

Health & Wellbeing
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible time off built on trust and accountability
  • A culture that respects your time and avoids unnecessary meetings

Remote & Flexible Work
  • Hybrid or remote-eligible within the U.S.
  • Flexibility to work in the way that helps you do your best work
