What is a Salesforce Development Manager?

A Salesforce Development Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce solutions within an organization. They manage a team of Salesforce developers and administrators, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet business requirements. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, setting technical standards, and optimizing Salesforce processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

How does a Salesforce Development Manager balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities?

Salesforce Development Managers often split their time between guiding a team of developers and architects, engaging in code reviews, setting technical direction, and collaborating with stakeholders to align business requirements with technical solutions. While some managers are still involved in hands-on development, their primary focus usually shifts toward project oversight, resource planning, mentoring team members, and ensuring best practices are followed. This mix of leadership and technical involvement can vary depending on team size and organizational needs, but strong communication and delegation skills are key to balancing both aspects effectively.
