S3, Inc. has an immediate need for a Software Developer to join the corporate IT team at our HQ in Research Park, Huntsville, AL.
This is not a teleworking position.
Description:
The Software Developer develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.
Designs and builds SharePoint applications using a variety of development tools and techniques. Will develop user interfaces for new or existing databases using a combination of HTML, SQL, C or other languages. May coordinate with web developers and/or graphics designers to ensure that the needs are technically feasible.
Will provide maintenance, upgrades and advice on issues related to applications created and other technical web developments and perform functionality and navigation testing and prepare technical documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and deploy custom SharePoint applications to manage and track structured and unstructured data.
• Create custom lists, libraries, workflows, forms (Powerapps/InfoPath) and dashboards (Power BI or Excel Services).
• Integrate SharePoint with external data sources (SQL, Excel, APIs) using business connectivity services or custom connectors.
• Implement role-based access controls, versioning and audit trails for compliance and traceability.
• Automate business processes using Power Automate or SharePoint Designer workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, document specifications and deliver user friendly solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing SharePoint solutions to ensure performance, scalability and security
• Develop and maintain Power BI data models, semantic models, DAX measures, calculated columns, and other reporting components.
• Use Power Query, SQL, and related tools to extract, transform, clean, and prepare data for analysis and reporting.
• Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of directly related experience or Master's degree and 5 years of directly related experience.
• 3+ years of experience using SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server (2016/2019).
• On a scale of 1 - 5, with 5 being the highest skill level, level 3 or greater skill level working with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) to design workflows.
• At least 3 years of experience with SPFx, JavaScript/TypeScript, Rest APIs and CSOM. Strong understanding of SharePoint permissions and governance.
• 2 years of experience designing data schemas and metadata strategies.
• 3 years of experience integrating SharePoint with Excel, SQL or third-party systems. Experience with SQL and C# databases.
• Familiarity with Agile or DevOps methodologies
