Job description

Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. Guided by our mission to make the world’s health data secure, accessible and actionable, we provide critical data solutions for organizations across the healthcare ecosystem - including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. From fulfilling a single patient’s request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavanters are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health.

By joining Datavant today, you’re stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a deeply experienced Salesforce Solutions Architect to join the Salesforce Engineering team at Datavant, serving as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and our technical delivery teams. You will be joining an emerging, high-impact Center of Excellence focused on spearheading key digital transformation initiatives with the goal of implementing multiple Salesforce products at an enterprise level.

You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable, well-designed Salesforce solutions while ensuring every initiative is aligned to business outcomes, platform best practices, and long-term architectural integrity. This is a unique opportunity to shape the solution vision for company-wide Salesforce investments and lay the strategic foundation for years to come.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the trusted technical advisor across business, product, and engineering, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and grounded in platform capabilities and long-term architectural direction.

  • Own and enforce enterprise-level solution standards, technical architecture governance, and best practices across multiple production instances.

  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements sessions with business stakeholders to define problems, map processes, and identify the right Salesforce capabilities to address them.

  • Own end-to-end solution design across initiatives, producing fit-gap analyses, solution blueprints, and functional architecture documentation.

  • Assess and recommend the right mix of Salesforce-native capabilities, AppExchange products, and third-party tooling, weighing trade-offs across cost, scalability, and strategic alignment to guide platform decisions.

  • Design integration approaches between Salesforce, MuleSoft, and enterprise systems, working alongside integration engineers to ensure alignment on patterns and constraints.

  • Define and maintain solution design standards and documentation practices that set the quality bar across the CoE.

  • Drive cross-cloud solution architecture across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, and Experience Cloud.

  • Evaluate and architect Salesforce-native AI capabilities (Agentforce, Headless AI, MCP) and broader industry AI platforms, ensuring consistency and scalability while partnering with enterprise AI teams to align on standards and strategy.

  • Mentor team members on solution design thinking and Salesforce platform capabilities.

  • Stay current with the Salesforce product roadmap and proactively recommend platform capabilities that address evolving business needs.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 4+ years of experience in a Salesforce Solutions Architect, Principal Consultant, or senior advisory role delivering enterprise-scale implementations.

  • 6+ years of Salesforce practitioner experience with deep hands-on background across core clouds (Sales, Service, Experience) in complex, multi-cloud environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead discovery and solution engagements including requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives and communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong experience with integration architecture and middleware patterns to design solutions and partner effectively with integration engineers.

  • Practical experience designing and building AI solutions with Salesforce or other platforms, with the technical depth to evaluate emerging tools and business requirements.

  • Strong Service Cloud experience.

  • Strong Data 360 (Data Cloud) implementation experience.

  • Salesforce Application and/or System Architect certifications.

What Helps You Stand Out

  • Regulated industry experience - Healthcare preferred.

  • Additional Salesforce certifications.

  • Experience with AI platforms and certifications.

  • Salesforce consulting experience at a principal level or above.

  • Experience working in or alongside a Center of Excellence.
