Job description

Peerless Energy Systems is the Nebraska and Iowa distributor for Sullair compressors and ancillary compressed air equipment.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to be our new Sales Rep in the Central & Western Nebraska market, calling on businesses focusing in Lincoln, York, the Tri-City area, and the rest of the I-80 corridor.

This position will earn a base salary + Commission Structure, we expect highly successful sales people to earn $180K or more per year. Base Salary will be between $50K and $70K depending on experience. Commissions will be earned in addition to the base salary. All sales of equipment, rentals, and parts sold in your territory will be eligible for commissions.

COMMISSIONS ARE UNCAPPED

Successful senior salespeople in the compressed air industry typically earn well over $180K per year with base salary plus commissions.

Peerless Energy Systems services and installs industrial compressed air systems, vacuum & blower equipment, and other industrial equipment.

As a member of our sales team, your primary responsibilities will be selling equipment, rentals, and parts while maintaining customer relationships. This is a technical sales position. You will be calling on industrial manufacturers, food processors, fabrication shops, hospitals, chemical plants, ethanol plants, power plants, and many other industrial businesses.

Benefits include but are not limited to the following:

  • Company sponsored Medical Insurance
  • $50K of company paid for Life Insurance
  • 401K employer paid retirement contribution
  • Paid Vacation, up to 3 weeks
  • Voluntary Vision Insurance
  • Voluntary Dental Insurance
  • Voluntary Short Term Disability Insurance
  • Voluntary Long Term Disability Insurance
  • Voluntary Term Life Insurance
  • All major holidays paid days off
  • Yearly bonus
  • Company provided vehicle and gas card
  • Expense reimbursement for travel

This position does require a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

At Peerless Energy Systems, the Outside Sales Engineer role is a mix of technical sales, account management, and business development within the compressed air and industrial utility space. You’d be responsible for a defined territory (Central/Western Nebraska) and work directly with plant managers, maintenance teams, and engineers.
The core of the role revolves around identifying opportunities, evaluating compressed air systems, and recommending solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and operating costs. That can include compressors, dryers, filtration, piping, and controls.
A typical week is a combination of:
-In-person customer visits (both existing accounts and new prospects)
-Walking systems, identifying inefficiencies or risks, and developing solutions
-Working with our internal team on quoting, system design, and project execution
-Following up on proposals and managing projects through close
-Maintaining long-term relationships and becoming a trusted resource for customers
We’re a full-service distributor, so the role isn’t just transactional - it’s very relationship-driven and consultative, with a strong focus on aftermarket support (service, parts, rentals) in addition to equipment sales.
The territory does involve some windshield time, but it’s balanced with repeat business and established accounts. There’s also a lot of autonomy in how you manage your schedule and grow your territory.
