Senior Indirect Tax Analyst
About your role:
As a Sr. Indirect Tax Analyst, you will support indirect tax compliance, reporting, and audit activities across U.S. and Canadian tax jurisdictions, including sales and use tax, GST (Goods and Services Tax)/HST (Harmonized Sales Tax), PST (Provincial Sales Tax), gross receipts, and other transaction-based tax areas. You will partner with accounting, finance, legal, business teams, and external advisors to prepare filings, analyze taxability, resolve jurisdictional issues, and support tax audits and planning initiatives. Your work will help Fiserv meet filing obligations, reduce tax risk, and maintain accurate tax reporting across a complex and evolving operating environment.
What you'll do:
  • Prepare and review U.S. sales and use tax returns & Canadian GST/HST and PST returns accurately and timely, including monthly reviews of related Accruals, e-filing returns, processing tax payments, and performing account reconciliations. and responses to tax authority inquiries and audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting workpapers for Canadian corporate income tax filings, including estimated tax payments and account reconciliations. Support tax audits by gathering documentation, responding to information requests, and representing the interests of the business before state, local, and Canadian taxing authorities to help minimize audit assessments and deficiencies
  • Assist in determining the taxability of transactions and provide guidance to business partners on U.S. and Canadian indirect tax matters.
  • Identify and help implement tax planning opportunities, process improvements, quality enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze current and proposed U.S. and Canadian tax laws and regulations to assess potential impacts on Fiserv.
  • Support credit and incentive projects by gathering and analyzing data from Payroll, Human Resources, Real Estate, and other departments.
  • Participate in project teams focused on securing tax credits and incentives while ensuring compliance requirements are met to maximize available benefits.

Experience you'll need to have:
  • 4+ years of experience in indirect tax and/or similar discipline
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Co-Pilot)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:
  • Canadian tax experience.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/billing systems
  • Knowledge of indirect tax software solutions such as Vertex, Sovos, or similar tools

How you'll work:
  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
