Architectural Sales Representative
Position Summary
An established manufacturer of commercial and architectural window systems is seeking an experienced Architectural Sales Representative to develop and expand relationships within the architectural and commercial construction community throughout the Northeast, with primary emphasis on the New York metropolitan market.
This role is responsible for generating demand by influencing specifications, educating architects and design professionals, supporting commercial project development, and partnering with the commercial sales organization to convert specifications into awarded business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen relationships with architects, developers, owners, façade consultants, glazing contractors, and other key influencers involved in commercial project design and construction.
- Increase specification activity and business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
- Become a trusted technical resource by educating architects, customers, and the outside sales organization on the company's product portfolio and applications.
- Schedule and conduct AIA-accredited CEU presentations, Lunch & Learns, product demonstrations, and technical education sessions for architectural firms and customers.
- Host architects, designers, and customers for product demonstrations and project discussions at the company's New York showroom.
- Work closely with Commercial Territory Sales Representatives to support projects from early design through project award.
- Assist architects with product selection, specification development, preliminary budgeting, and technical application recommendations.
- Provide project support including drawing reviews, mock-ups, field testing, jobsite visits, and technical assistance as required.
- Represent the company at AIA, CSI, trade shows, networking events, and other industry functions to strengthen relationships and generate new business.
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, customer service, and sales teams to ensure a high level of customer support throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience within architectural products, commercial construction, fenestration, glazing systems, curtainwall, storefront, building-envelope products, or related industries.
- Existing relationships within the architectural and commercial construction community are strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting technical presentations, AIA CEUs, Lunch & Learns, or similar educational programs is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $80,000-$100,000, depending on qualifications. Exceptional candidates may be considered above this range.
