Stein Distributing Company, Inc. is a beverage wholesaler of beer, specialty malt beverages and specialty wine products in Boise Idaho. OBJECTIVE / GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To support the Sales Department through shelf management, display building and installation of point of sale and to increase the visibility of the company’s products.

II.            PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build displays in retail accounts using appropriate point of sale material.  Displays should be visible, priced correctly, and rotated when appropriate. 
  • Support Sales staff by taking orders from customers for temporary and permanent point of sale, products, merchandise, and other related sales materials.
  • Complete all internal control records, forms, and other reports properly and accurately.
  • Merchandise shelf area (shelf strips, cooler stickers, etc.).
  • Stock company products on shelves as needed.
  • Build a positive relationship with retailers.
  • May assist with training new employees on daily responsibilities.
  • May provide Sales route relief when needed.
  • Attend periodic meetings to discuss sales goals, new products, etc.
  • Merchandising our accounts to Steinn Distributing and our customer’s standards.
  • Stocking cold boxes and rotating back stock to coolers.
  • Rotation of product by code date to insure product freshness.
  • Condense pallets to insure, back stock clean and organized.
  • Drive and maintain assigned vehicle to Stein’s standards.
  • Deliver and merchandise orders as needed.

III.          SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May be required to work some special events, i.e. concerts/ Boise St. etc.
  • Assist Sales Representatives in cooler resets and other production rotation.
  • Assist Promotions Department in set - up and execution of special promotions and on-premise nights.
  • Contact Team Leader if any store is out of stock on any package.
  • Report all competitive price changes to management immediately.
  • Inform Sales Representatives of any sales opportunities.
  • Be attired 100% of working time in Company approved attire.
  • Follow all other company policies not specifically outlined in this description.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Requirements:

  • 1 - 2 years merchandising experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of merchandising (displays, P.O.S., sales, etc.).
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, creating favorable public image and maintain proper conduct.
  • Ability to use a variety of hardware tools, including a hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, staple gun, etc.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, sit, squat, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Capable of driving a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.
