Sales Rep Account Manager information

What is a sales rep account manager?

Sales Rep Account Managers are professionals responsible for managing relationships with existing clients and generating new business for their company. They work to understand client needs, present products or services, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. Their role often involves meeting sales targets, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with other departments to deliver solutions. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

How does a sales rep account manager typically balance new client acquisition with maintaining existing client relationships?

Sales Rep Account Managers often divide their time between prospecting for new business and nurturing long-term relationships with current clients. This balance requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize both outreach activities, such as cold calls or networking events, and account management tasks, like follow-up meetings and problem resolution. Many companies set specific targets for both new sales and retention, so success in the role often depends on maintaining a healthy pipeline while ensuring existing clients remain satisfied and loyal. Collaboration with marketing and customer support teams is also common to coordinate efforts and deliver a seamless client experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales rep account manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sales Rep Account Manager, you need strong sales acumen, relationship-building skills, and a background in business or marketing, often supported by a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software like Salesforce and proficiency in sales analytics tools are typically required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities help you stand out in this role. These skills are vital for efficiently managing client accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.

What is the difference between Sales Rep Account Manager vs Customer Service Representative?

The main difference between a Sales Rep Account Manager and a Customer Service Representative lies in their primary focus. Sales Rep Account Managers actively seek new clients and manage existing accounts to generate revenue, often requiring sales experience and industry knowledge. Customer Service Representatives primarily handle client inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain customer satisfaction without a direct focus on sales. Both roles are essential in business operations but serve different functions within the customer relationship spectrum.

How much does a sales rep account manager get paid?

The average salary for a sales rep account manager typically ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, industry, and location. Many roles also include commissions or bonuses based on sales performance, which can significantly increase total compensation.

Job description

Appliance Sales Representative / Account Manager

We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and customer-focused Sales Representative / Account Manager to join our team.

We want someone who is ready to work, has a great attitude, enjoys working with people, and knows how to follow through. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys sales, building customer relationships, and taking ownership of the customer experience from the initial conversation through the completed sale.

You do not need to know everything about appliances on day one. We can teach product knowledge. What matters most to us is work ethic, reliability, attitude, communication, and taking care of customers.

What You'll Do

  • Help customers select the right appliances for their needs and budget
  • Build relationships with new and existing customers
  • Prepare quotes and follow up with customers to close sales
  • Manage customer accounts and develop repeat and referral business
  • Respond to incoming leads, calls, emails, and customer inquiries
  • Consistently follow up on open quotes and sales opportunities
  • Learn appliance brands, products, features, promotions, and warranties
  • Process orders accurately and keep customers updated
  • Coordinate with our team on product availability, delivery, and installation
  • Follow up after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Develop relationships with homeowners, builders, designers, contractors, property managers, and other industry professionals
  • Work toward individual and company sales goals

What We're Looking For

The right person is:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Motivated and ready to work
  • Friendly, professional, and positive
  • Excellent with customers
  • Comfortable selling and asking for the business
  • A strong communicator and good listener
  • Organized and consistent with follow-up
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative
  • Accountable and able to follow through on commitments
  • Comfortable managing multiple customers and opportunities
  • Willing to learn and develop strong product knowledge
  • A team player with a good attitude

Experience

Previous experience in sales, account management, appliances, retail, home improvement, construction, kitchen design, property management, or customer service is a plus.

Appliance experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

What Success Looks Like

This is not simply an order-taking position.

Successful Account Managers at House of Appliances build relationships, follow up on opportunities, close sales, generate repeat business, and make sure their customers receive excellent service.

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of their accounts and treat our customers like their own.

Join House of Appliances

If you're dependable, motivated, good with people, and ready to work, we'd like to meet you.

We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team, build a strong customer base, and grow with House of Appliances.

Apply today. We look forward to meeting you!
