What is a sales operator?

Sales Operators are professionals responsible for supporting and managing the administrative and operational aspects of a sales team. They help streamline sales processes, handle order processing, manage customer data, and ensure that sales transactions are executed efficiently. By taking care of the logistical and organizational tasks, Sales Operators enable sales representatives to focus more on selling and building client relationships. Their role is crucial in maintaining smooth communication between different departments and improving overall sales productivity.

How does a sales operator typically collaborate with the sales and logistics teams?

Sales Operators serve as a vital link between the sales and logistics teams, ensuring that customer orders are processed smoothly and efficiently. They frequently communicate with sales representatives to confirm order details, coordinate with logistics to arrange timely shipments, and address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process. Effective collaboration ensures customer satisfaction and supports overall sales targets.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales operator, and why are they important?

Our success lies in our innovation and safety, and our dedication to reliable, on-time delivery. So, if you know where you’re headed, we have the training and career development to help you get there .

Job Description

Are you an experienced sales professional who loves the thrill of the build but is tired of the corporate
ladder game? Do you find fulfillment in mastering a specific territory, building genuine long-term
relationships, and being the go-to expert your clients trust year after year? We are specifically seeking a career-minded professional who wants to plant deep roots, own their desk, and enjoy long-term stability in a career in Inside Sales. If you excel at building lasting B2B relationships from the comfort of an office environment and want a role where your tenure and regional expertise are truly valued, this is your destination.
Manitoulin Group of Companies is one of Canada largest national transportation companies, providing

seasonal, and logistical realities that businesses in Canada’s North face every single day.
Primary Responsibilities

Alberta, Northern BC, and the Northern territories.
 New Business Development: Source and secure new customers through targeted cold calls,
competitive research, and strategic outreach.
 Consultative Solutions: Introduce Manitoulin’s extensive suite of services (LTL/FTL,
temperature-controlled, transborder, and dangerous goods) to solve complex remote logistics
challenges.
 Team Collaboration: Support the regional sales team and collaborate closely with operations to
ensure seamless execution for demanding northern routes.
 Client Retention: Act as the steady, reliable, long-term point of contact that our Northern clients
can depend on year after year. (Occasional travel or in-person sales meetings may be required).

Qualifications

 The Northern Advantage: Prior experience or deep knowledge of Canada’s Northern geography
and/or the Transportation/Logistics industry is preferred, particularly regarding Northern
Canadian freight movements and logistics constraints
 Career-Oriented Mindset: You view Inside Sales as a long-term profession. You value
autonomy, consistency, and the opportunity to master a territory.
 Core Skills: You are results-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong communicator with excellent
negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
 Education: A college or university graduate, or equivalent industry experience.

If you are looking to bring your logistics insight to a role where you can truly settle in and make a long-
term impact, we want to hear from you.
