Role: Engagement Manager (CPG + Retail)

Our Client is seeking an experienced Engagement Manager - CPG & Retail to support strategic growth initiatives across the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Retail sectors. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on client advisory, technical sales support, AI and analytics consulting, solution shaping, executive stakeholder engagement, and pre-sales and delivery collaboration.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth across AI, data engineering, analytics, cloud, and enterprise transformation with strong commercial and consulting capabilities. This individual will work directly with enterprise clients, including senior business and technology stakeholders, and will serve as a trusted advisor in shaping AI and data-driven transformation initiatives.
This role is highly client-facing and is best suited for a professional who can operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, engage executive stakeholders, and bridge business strategy with hands-on technical execution.

Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Technical Sales

Partner with sales and account leadership teams to drive strategic AI, data, and analytics conversations with enterprise CPG and Retail clients.
Lead discovery workshops, executive discussions, and solutioning sessions.
Translate business priorities and challenges into scalable AI, data, analytics, and engineering solutions.
Shape proposals, statements of work, and strategic transformation roadmaps.
Support large deal pursuits, RFP responses, client presentations, and other pre-sales activities.
Develop trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
AI, Data & Analytics Consulting
Advise enterprise clients on modern AI/ML, Generative AI, data engineering, cloud, analytics, and enterprise architecture.
Provide strategic guidance on AI and analytics use cases across CPG and Retail environments, including:
Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
Demand forecasting
Supply chain analytics
Retail execution
Customer analytics
Marketing effectiveness
Pricing and promotions
Personalization
Trade promotion optimization
Provide practical guidance on operationalizing AI and analytics solutions at enterprise scale.
Help clients evaluate technology, data, and operating-model requirements for AI-driven transformation.
Executive Stakeholder Management
Build credibility and strong relationships with CIO, CDO, CTO, Data & Analytics, Digital, and Business leadership teams.
Act as a trusted strategic advisor during complex client engagements.
Lead executive-level conversations involving business strategy, technology transformation, AI, data, and analytics.
Navigate complex, cross-functional enterprise environments with strong executive presence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with consulting, engineering, data science, and delivery teams to translate client requirements into executable solutions.
Bridge business strategy with technical execution.
Collaborate with global teams across solution development, pre-sales, and delivery initiatives.
Mentor junior team members when needed during strategic pursuits and advisory engagements.
Business Development & Growth
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support new business development.
Contribute to strategic account planning and enterprise transformation pursuits.
Support development of innovative AI, analytics, and data-driven solutions aligned with client business objectives.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive activity, and evolving CPG/Retail business priorities.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
Enterprise AI/Data consulting
Technical pre-sales
Analytics consulting
Solution architecture
Client-facing engineering leadership
Digital or technology transformation
Strong experience serving enterprise CPG and/or Retail clients.
Hands-on practitioner experience within the relevant domain is required.
Strong technical understanding of AI, data, analytics, cloud, and enterprise technology environments.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead client conversations and executive-level engagements.
Proven experience supporting enterprise transformation initiatives, strategic pursuits, proposals, and pre-sales activities.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect technical solutions with measurable business outcomes.
Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to operate independently in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
Willingness and ability to work in a client-facing environment with travel based on business requirements.

Compensation
The compensation range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors considered when making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 per year, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on applicable company policies and performance.
Compensation decisions are made based on the specific qualifications, experience, skills, and business requirements applicable to each candidate.
