Job description

Basic Function: Machine components to print specifications using manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses etc.

Essential Duties:

  1. Read and interpret blue prints and follow various work instructions.
  2. Set-up and operate various manual machine tools (lathe,mill, grinder etc.)
  3. Proficient using measuring instruments and gages.
  4. Proficient using various hand tools.
  5. Ability to work well with fellow employees including active participation in employee involvement activities and problem solving.
  6. Fully support and participate in promoting safety at all times.

Other Duties: Maintain clean, efficient work area. Ability to work well with minimum supervision.

Education Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience Required: 2 years preferred but not required.

Physical Skill and Effort: Standing, bending, lifting objects weighing up to 30 lbs. for approximately 20 to 50 times during an 8 to 12 hr. work shift. Dexterity required includes the ability to safely work with power and hand tools.

Working Conditions and Hazards: Normal hazards associated with working in a metal fabricating environment. Personal protection equipment required consists of: safety glasses, steel toed shoes and hearing protection. Additional personal protection equipment may be required and is dependent upon the work being performed, and may include: face shield, respirator etc.
