Job description

Turning Point Search is seeking a Sales Manager with experience selling Automotive Metals Stamping products/solutions to Japanese OEMs. This opportunity will be based out of Troy, MI, with 20-25% U.S. travel (predominately Mid-West and East Coast). We are seeking experience selling to clients such as Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Nissan and Korea's Hyundai/Kia. This opportunity provides a base salary + bonus + benefits + car allowance.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain relationships between assigned customers and company while maximizing on opportunities to receive future business.
  • Win targeted sales, develop strategic plans for specific customer accounts and assist the VP Sales in the development of long term plans, including sales and budget forecasts.
  • Act as a liaison between customer and company in all areas of Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Accounting.
  • Meet with customers on a regular basis to follow-up on current issues/concerns, engineering changes, quality issues, potential future business, etc.
  • Coordinate customer visits for company personnel as requested.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete call reports, activity schedules and any other company required documents (i.e. expense reports).
  • Monitor due dates for customer deliveries and consults with various departments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate and complete all required paperwork for new product/program launches.
  • Responsible for meeting customer cost reduction targets, including coordination and tracking of program costs.
  • Review quote sheets and cost estimates to maximize profitability and competitiveness and negotiate with customers as necessary.
  • Follow-up on outstanding customer receivables as per Finance Departments' request.

Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years job related experience in automotive/manufacturing industry, specifically in the metal stamping industry.
  • Recent strong (within 5 years) experience working in a sales or account executive capacity focusing on Japanese OEM's directly. For example: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Suzuki, Mazda, Mitsubishi
  • Possesses effective, creative, and innovative sales and negotiating techniques.
  • Basic technical expertise in metals stamping environment.
  • General knowledge of TS 16949 requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to use problem solving and decision making skills when faced with various customer concerns/issues.
