Purpose of Position: The Sales Associates responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answering their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions, or directing them to the appropriate team member internally. A qualified candidate should also be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales Associate, staying up-to-date with product features and maintaining our stores visual appearance in high standards is critical.

Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while striving to meet and maintain the stores sales goals.

Position's Customer(s): Retail sales customers, retail vendors, freight handlers, wireless and mobile customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening/Closing Procedures - 5%
    • Prepare store and sales floor for daily operations. Verify proper POS operation and preparation and appropriate resources for daily operations. Close POS and reconcile daily sales for deposits as assigned.
  • Daily Sales - 70%
    • Oversee daily sales operations. Assist customers with inventory related questions, take specialized orders and maintain shelf inventory. Process daily sales invoices and invoice payments as assigned.
  • Inventory -10%
    • Work closely with the Sales manager to maintain proper inventory levels and adjust inventory in response to customer demand and sales trends. Receive stock from vendors and mail carriers. Price inventory and distribute to sales floor or overstock locations as directed.
  • Cleaning - 5%
    • Perform daily cleaning task as needed to maintain a sanitary and customer friendly and safe work environment. May include, but is not limited to, light restroom cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and seasonal snow removal and ice melt application.
  • Clerical - 10%
    • Update current customer information and enter new customers into POS and business templates. Manage promotional materials as directed. Create routine re-order lists and special orders as assigned. Maintain work related e-mail account and work-related correspondence with supervisor.
    • Possible delivery and mail runs to support operations as needed.
  • Full time expectations
    • Comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    • Support other action programs guided by OpimERAs strategic roadmap when needed.

Sales Associates should be proficient in the following tasks:

  • Basic understanding of sale principals and customer service practices

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging staff, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.

Physical Requirements: Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday, perform repetitive keyboarding activities and operate general office equipment. Must have the ability to communicate orally, both in person and over the telephone. Ability to lift and carry up to (50) lbs. and work in cramped spaces. Balance sufficient for occasional use of a step ladder. Hearing, vision, depth perception, and hand-to-eye coordination sufficient to perform job duties. Visual and auditory acuity necessary to operate equipment and identify color-coding. Ability to tolerate temperature and weather extremes (fumes and odors, dust, low light conditions.) Strength, dexterity, and coordination sufficient to perform job duties.)

Working Conditions: Mostly office/warehouse environments but may require work to be performed out of office for Promotion task, mail collection and bank deposits/transfers.


Driving Requirements: Must have valid drivers license, or equivalent transportation means for scheduled hours.


Hours: Seasonal and off-season hours Monday thru Sunday 9:00am to 7:00 PM, Hours are subject to change and weekly scheduling. We are open to working around scheduling limitations and needs where possible.
