About Safetrust

Safetrust is redefining how people and organizations securely access the world around them. Our digital identity platform combines secure credentials, cloud-native architecture, and mobile-first authentication to power seamless access across physical and digital environments.

From unlocking doors with a mobile device to securing enterprise systems, our technology is transforming identity across mobility and IoT.

We partner with global enterprises and channel partners-from Fortune 200 companies to emerging innovators-to eliminate legacy credential risks and deliver secure, scalable access solutions.

With teams across the United States, Vietnam, and Australia, Safetrust is built by bold thinkers who move fast, solve complex problems, and are shaping the future of trust.

Why This Role Matters

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role embedded directly within one of Safetrust's most important global enterprise customers.

As the dedicated Sales Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical advisor and solution architect, working side-by-side with customer stakeholders to design, influence, and scale secure identity solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

This role sits at the intersection of sales, architecture, and customer success and is physically located on-site at the strategic account holder's location, providing direct access to stakeholders and the ability to drive real-time impact.

Safetrust operates at the intersection of digital identity and physical access security. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting enterprise physical access control environments and understand how identity, credentials, readers, access control platforms, and mobile technologies work together to secure facilities at scale.

Role Overview

Safetrust is seeking a highly strategic, technically strong Sales Engineer to support a dedicated global strategic account. This role may be based on-site in either Seattle, Washington or Herndon, Virginia, depending on the selected candidate's location and customer alignment.

You will partner closely with the Account Executive, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to drive technical alignment, accelerate deployments, and identify expansion opportunities.

Candidates with a strong background in Physical Access Security, Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), mobile credentials, enterprise identity solutions, and security technology integrations are strongly preferred.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong executive presence, and the ability to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, real-world solutions.

What You'll Do

Strategic Account Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for a dedicated enterprise customer.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across security, IT, facilities, workplace technology, and procurement.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders, including CISOs, security directors, facilities leadership, and IT executives.
  • Lead discovery sessions to understand architecture, security requirements, operational challenges, and business goals.
  • Design scalable, enterprise-ready solutions aligned with Safetrust capabilities and customer objectives.
  • Provide guidance on best practices related to identity, access management, mobile credentials, and physical security modernization.

Pre-Sales & Expansion

  • Partner with Account Executives to develop technical strategy and drive account expansion.
  • Identify new use cases and opportunities across business units, facilities, and geographies.
  • Support technical validation, pilots, proof-of-concepts, and solution deployment activities.
  • Accelerate sales cycles by removing technical barriers and aligning stakeholders around solution value.
  • Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops to both technical and executive audiences.

Solution Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams.
  • Escalate and help resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Ensure successful deployment, adoption, and long-term customer success.
  • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on real-world customer requirements and market needs.
  • Assist with integration planning and deployment strategies involving access control, identity, and security ecosystems.

Thought Leadership & Industry Expertise

  • Stay current on identity, access control, physical security, and cybersecurity trends.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Position Safetrust as a long-term strategic identity and security platform partner.
  • Represent Safetrust professionally within customer environments and industry discussions.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Security Engineering, or Solution Architecture.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or strategic global accounts.
  • Strong background in Physical Access Security and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with enterprise security, facilities, workplace technology, and IT organizations.

    • Cloud-based SaaS architectures
    • Authentication and Authorization Technologies
    • Enterprise Security Frameworks
  • Experience integrating physical security systems with enterprise identity platforms.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including executive-level engagement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently in a customer-facing, on-site environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field
  • CISSP or similar security certification
  • Experience in physical security or digital identity industries
  • Familiarity with platforms such as HID, Lenel, Genetec, or similar
  • Experience with mobile SDK integrations
  • Background in enterprise architecture or security engineering

What Sets You Apart

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder influence
  • Consultative approach to solution design and customer engagement
  • Ability to navigate complex enterprise environments and drive alignment
  • High ownership mindset with strong follow-through

Success in This Role

  • Successful technical validation and deployment within the strategic account
  • Expansion of Safetrust solutions across additional business units or regions
