Job description

WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, NH, has an opening for a paid summer internship in the Sales Department.  The internship will provide hands-on professional learning experience, with an emphasis on Broadcast Television and Digital Sales. The WMUR internship is administered through in-person training and shadowing of Sales Managers, Account Executives and Support Specialists. Students must have junior or senior level status to apply. The internship runs June 1st - August 7th, 16 hours per week. 

Interns are introduced to all areas of the sales department, including but not limited to:

  • Developing sales and marketing material
  • Gather research for sales development
  • Attend sales meetings and client calls
  • Generate client facing reporting
  • Shadow commercial production crew in the field
  • Monitor market and industry data
  • Participate in client facing events
  • Researching target accounts

Completion of Internship:

After completing the internship, you should understand the role of the sales department in the broadcast television and digital industry. Interns will understand the advertising solutions available to local clients.
