Description
This role develops and grows sales with new and existing customers. Responsibilities include participating in a variety of focused developmental activities, assignments, and rotations over 12-18 months.

  • Rental:
    • The Sales Associate Trainee - Rental learns all aspects of Texas First Rentals sales methods and practices, to become a contributing member of the sales team as an Outside Sales Representative.
  • Supply:
    • The Sales Associate Trainee - Supply learns all aspects of Texas First Rentals sales methods and practices, to become a contributing member of the sales team as a Supply Sales Representative.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Learns the company's culture and organizational structure; Support and learn about branch operations
  • Learns accurate use of systems for quotes, rental, sales, reservations, territory management
  • Gains an understanding of implementing, sustaining, and developing quality improvement processes that focus on safety, financials, operations, and customer service
  • Builds and maintains internal relationships with key support teams
  • Collects customer information and understand needs for use on future sales and marketing campaigns
  • Leverages Marketing & Sales tools to identify and sell to customers
  • Utilizes CRM to uncover opportunity from dormant and inactive accounts as well as long lost
  • Coordinates with branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction; and communicate field issues to branch or Supply personnel, as applicable
  • Works with ISR's to provide solutions to customers around equipment needs assessment, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, credit apps
  • Negotiates prices on equipment rentals and sales in accordance with pricing policies and procedures
  • Drives customer engagement to local events/promotions
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Learns all functions of an Outside Sales Representative by actively participating in hands on training to include joint sales calls, passing leads, and opening up new accounts

    • Learns all functions of a Supply Sales Representative by actively participating in hands on training to include joint sales calls, passing leads, and opening up new accounts

  • Knowledge of applicable accounting principles, budget preparation, and business acumen
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long term business relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Three to five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Travel:
  • Up to 5% travel may be expected
  • Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:
  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Work Environment:
  • This job is generally performed in a retail, office, and construction environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
  • This job does require working outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
