What will you do?
A day in the life of an Associate Designer at Vans is dynamic, creative, and collaborative. You'll support the design team in developing seasonal concepts, product direction, and visual storytelling across categories. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the creative process while learning the fundamentals of design and brand expression.

  • Support the creation of Mens concepts and collections based on merchandise briefs.
  • Assist design management in developing innovative designs rooted in street culture and brand language.
  • Contribute to consumer research and trend identification through mood boards and sample presentations.
  • Sketch and render original design concepts under guidance.
  • Help select materials and finishes for seasonal collections.
  • Maintain efficient communication flow across teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide thoughtful feedback.
  • Execute designs, tech packs, and seasonal color CADs with support.
  • Collaborate with Footwear Development to bring cross divisional ideas to life.
  • Demonstrate strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Experience and interest in utilizing Generative AI to enhance the design / visioning process.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and processes.
  • Experience with PLM systems and building tech packs, BOMs, etc.
  • Maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals.
  • Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Location requirements: Hybrid schedule out of our offices in Costa Mesa, CA.
Hiring Range:
$60,480.00 USD - $75,600.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
