Job description

Role Overview

Idea Nuova, Inc. is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and trend-driven Associate Designer to join our Baby & Kids Bedding team. This role is ideal for a designer with experience in children’s products, textiles, or soft goods who is passionate about creating innovative and commercially successful collections for infants, toddlers, and kids.

The Associate Designer will support the design and product development process from concept through production, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product development, sourcing, merchandising, sales, and production. The ideal candidate has strong technical design skills, a keen eye for color and print, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of seasonal baby and kids bedding collections, décor, soft goods, and related accessories
  • Create original concepts, CADs, print layouts, mood boards, presentation materials, and technical drawings
  • Develop and maintain accurate tech packs, spec sheets, BOMs, line sheets, and artwork files
  • Research trends, fabrics, trims, prints, color palettes, and competitive products to support seasonal direction
  • Collaborate with product development, sourcing, and production teams to bring products from concept to final approval
  • Review and comment on samples, strike-offs, lab dips, trims, and materials to ensure quality and design accuracy
  • Ensure products meet aesthetic, safety, quality, and fit standards specific to children’s products
  • Assist with customer presentations, catalogs, sales materials, and other visual assets as needed
  • Organize and maintain design files, artwork revisions, and seasonal archives efficiently
  • Support merchandising and cross-functional teams with product updates, presentation materials, and sample management
  • Stay current on market trends and emerging ideas within the baby, kids, and home textile industries
  • Perform additional design and development responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of design experience, preferably in baby, kids, bedding, home textiles, soft goods, or children’s products
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Product Design, or related field preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience creating CADs, technical flats, repeat patterns, and production-ready artwork
  • Understanding of garment/textile construction, materials, trims, and product development processes
  • Knowledge of tech packs, product specifications, and manufacturing requirements
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with plush, soft goods, bedding, or giftable products is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to work onsite and commute to office location
