Position Summary
Saleen Automotive is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to manage the critical flow of inventory. In this role, you are much more than a "parts runner"—you are the guardian of our traceability and the first line of defense for quality. You will be responsible for the accurate movement of parts between vendors and our production floor, ensuring that every component meets Saleen standards before it ever reaches a technician’s hands.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Coordination & Traceability:
- Act as the primary runner for part deliveries and pickups.
- Ensure all Travelers and documentation are filled out with 100% accuracy.
- Mandate and verify that all vendors sign off on documentation during every exchange to maintain a flawless audit trail.
- Incoming Quality Control:
- Perform a rigorous quality check on all incoming parts against Saleen’s established standards.
- Identify any defects, shipping damage, or finish inconsistencies and escalate issues immediately to production leadership.
- Receiving & Accountability:
- Match Bill of Ladings (BOLs) against physical receiving packages with total precision.
- Audit every shipment for quantity and part number accuracy; report any discrepancies to the Senior Buyer immediately to prevent production delays.
- Inventory & Parts Pulling:
- Pull specific parts kits for vehicle builds based on "Blue Folder" requirements.
- Low Inventory Reporting: Proactively report when stock for any component drops to a quantity of three or fewer.
- Inventory Recovery: If a part was previously out of stock and a new shipment arrives, you are responsible for immediately adding that part to the designated build cart and updating the inventory status for that specific cart.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Meticulous Record-Keeping: An obsession with accuracy, ensuring every signature and date is captured on company travelers and BOLs.
- Quality Standards: The ability to spot a "non-conforming" part instantly, from surface scratches to machining errors.
- Proactive Communication: The confidence to immediately report shortages or discrepancies to the Senior Buyer and Operations Manager.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to manage the physical demands of a warehouse environment, including lifting parts and navigating the production floor.
- Reliability: A clean driving record for parts running and a consistent "first-in, last-out" work ethic.
