Overview

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to support a leading technology and telecommunications organization focused on expanding next-generation network services and connectivity solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted technical advisor during the pre-sales process, partnering with customers, sales teams, and technical delivery teams to design and recommend technology solutions that address business requirements and drive successful outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong networking and cloud architecture expertise with excellent customer-facing and communication skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Design & Architecture
  • Partner with customers to understand business objectives, technical requirements, and operational challenges.
  • Design scalable network and technology solutions aligned with customer needs and existing infrastructure.
  • Create solution architectures that incorporate networking, security, cloud, and enterprise technology components.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical recommendations and implementation strategies.
  • Present technical solutions and architecture recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.
Sales Support
  • Serve as the primary technical resource supporting the sales organization throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with account teams to identify opportunities and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Assist in the development of proposals, scopes of work, technical documentation, and solution diagrams.
  • Deliver solution presentations, product demonstrations, and technical workshops.
  • Clearly communicate technical value propositions to customers and stakeholders.
Customer Needs Assessment
  • Conduct discovery sessions and technical assessments to understand customer environments and challenges.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend modernization strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that address specific customer requirements.
  • Provide consultation regarding networking, connectivity, cloud, security, and infrastructure initiatives.
Technical Leadership
  • Maintain expertise across networking, cloud, security, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Educate sales teams on technical capabilities, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide architectural guidance and strategic recommendations.
Project Coordination
  • Partner with project managers and implementation teams to ensure successful delivery of designed solutions.
  • Support the transition from pre-sales to implementation.
  • Assist with technical issue resolution and customer escalations.
  • Provide ongoing post-sales technical support and consultation.

Required QualificationsExperience
  • 12+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Sales Architect, Network Architect, or similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers through the pre-sales lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to design, present, and position complex technology solutions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and delivery teams.
Technical Skills
  • Strong background in enterprise networking, infrastructure, and solution architecture.
  • Experience with technologies including:
    • Cisco
    • Palo Alto
    • Arista
    • Fortinet
    • EMC
    • Enterprise infrastructure platforms
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud technologies, including:
    • AWS
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Routing & switching
    • Network security
    • Performance optimization
  • Familiarity with system design, enterprise architecture, and cloud migration initiatives.
Preferred Certifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
