Math Teacher Key Job Responsibilities
Math Teacher Instructional Responsibilities:
โ€ข Ensure backwards designed unit and lesson plans are submitted on time and are aligned to school curriculum maps.
โ€ข Collaborate often and regularly with special education teachers and English Language Program Teacher (ELTP) and provide feedback, documentation, and data when necessary.
โ€ข Implement standards based and culturally relevant curriculum with fidelity.
โ€ข Ensure Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are being implemented with fidelity.
โ€ข Maintain accurate and complete records of student academic progress, behavior, and attendance.
โ€ข Deliver instruction in a manner that is highly engaging, rigorous, differentiated, and student centered.
โ€ข Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
โ€ข Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing clear expectations, rules, and procedures.
โ€ข Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
โ€ข Provide timely and accurate feedback on student work.
โ€ข Observe, assess, and report out student's performance and development.
โ€ข Use classroom and school wide assessment data to drive instructions and make modifications as necessary.
โ€ข Communicate regularly with guardians regarding their student's progress and development.
Math Teacher Professional Responsibilities:
โ€ข Monitor and keep inventory of student usage of ACE Amandla instructional materials.
โ€ข Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law and school/state regulations.
โ€ข Acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by seeking out and attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
โ€ข Collaborate with other professional staff members and participate in faculty meetings, school wide professional development, coaching sessions, and committee meetings.
โ€ข Attend and participate in IEP meetings when appropriate.
โ€ข Participate in appropriate professional activities, student extracurricular activities, and other duties as assigned.
Math Teacher Qualifications:
โ€ข Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Required).
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree (Required).
โ€ข Active Illinois Professional Educator License (Preferred).
โ€ข 5 or more years working in a high school setting (Preferred).
