Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, quoting tools, and electronic application systems is typically necessary. Many insurance agents quit due to the high level of competition, inconsistent income, and the pressure to meet sales targets. The job often requires strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and resilience, as agents typically work on commission and face frequent rejection. These factors can lead to job dissatisfaction and high turnover rates in the industry.

In many agencies, agents also partake in team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach initiatives to build relationships and generate new business. This blend of client-facing and administrative tasks keeps the role dynamic and provides regular opportunities to develop professionally.
