JOB DESCRIPTION LOCATION: Gianni's at The Villa Casa Casuarina POSITION: Food and Beverage Captain (Assistant Manager) - Gianni's Restaurant Food & Beverage Captain Gianni's at The Villa Casa Casuarina Position Summary Gianni's is seeking an experienced and service-driven Captain / Sommelier to lead front-of-house operations while supporting an elevated wine program. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through strong leadership, seamless service execution, and expert wine knowledge. Key Responsibilities Lead and support front-of-house team to maintain high service and hospitality standards Provide attentive, personalized guest service and handle concerns with professionalism Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and management to ensure smooth service flow Execute and support wine and sake service, including proper presentation and timing Maintain organization and stock of wine cellar, sommelier stations, and service areas Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and communicate low or 86'd items Oversee liquor and wine inventory management, including monthly inventory counts and weekly ordering Train and guide staff on menu knowledge, wine pairings, and service standards Ensure dining room cleanliness, setup, and adherence to grooming standards Qualifications Previous Captain or supervisory experience in fine dining Strong knowledge of wine, sake, and food pairings Excellent leadership, communication, and guest service skills Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-standard environment Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Benefits Full-time schedule Growth opportunities Employee meals 401(k), paid vacation Medical, dental, and vision insurance Parking This is a non-management position.
