Position Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer Trinity Health's West Region (Idaho, Oregon and California), this position provides financial stewardship and direction to Saint Agnes through effective business leadership, strategy deployment, internal controls and operating and capital budget development, monitoring and management. Provides support to other market and ministry executives within the Services Area. Engages in market level strategy alignment. Assists in evaluating the success of the company in achieving its goals and formulating plans to correct any issues if the company is not achieving its goals. Manages teams of mid-level and senior professionals. Leads or engages in multidisciplinary projects or initiatives. Assisting in managing the company's finances, identifying ways to increase revenue and decrease costs, analyzing financial reports, and preparing operating budgets. The position participates with other senior management to address, interpret, resolve and monitor a broad and diverse range of financial, operational and strategic issues. Responsible for the integrity of all financial information and reporting for area of responsibility.

The Vice President, Finance is a key member of the executive leadership team for Saint Agnes and has a dotted reporting line to the President and Market Leader.

Saint Agnes Medical Foundation

Saint Agnes Medical Foundation was added to the Saint Agnes Health ministry in 2017. This addition has been a vital part of growth for Saint Agnes Health through primary care and sub-specialty care expansion as well as provided opportunities for our residents to have a home for their rotations and future careers in primary care areas. Since, its inception, the medical foundation has grown now to almost 100 providers and has an Out patient imaging facility that operates within it with all modalities of imaging and a state of the art breast imaging center.

In 2021 Saint Agnes started its fully owned Restricted Knox Keene License - full risk health plan which is called the Central Valley Health Plan (CVHP). This Health Plan has only Medicare Advantage Lives and is close to 9,000 members now. It is a unique plan with contracted Independent Physician Associations that take the professional risk with Saint Agnes Medical Center having all the institutional risk for these members.

Saint Agnes also continues to have success with its six accreditedphysician residency and fellowship programsand is proud to be Fresno's first nationally recognizedBaby-Friendly Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or related field required.

  • Ten years' experience in financial management with progressively increasing responsibility and a minimum of five years' experience as CFO, controller or finance director in a hospital setting or complex service organization is required.

  • A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, values and guiding behaviors of Trinity Health.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

  • A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred. Healthcare Financial Management Association certification desirable.

  • Experience in working in a complex delivery system with a multi-specialty medical group and a Medicare Advantage health plan.

Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities.

  • Must be able to travel as needed to the various Trinity Health sites.

The salary range for this position is $236,000 - $355,000 ($113.46 - $170.72/hr.), depending on experience. Range does not include other incentives.
