About the Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services Team

Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services is a highly specialized, organized team of chief financial officers, controllers, senior accountants, and bookkeeping specialists with years of experience working with small to mid-sized organizations, for-profit and non-profit.


This team offers much more than outsourced functional-level accounting and bookkeeping, and more than exclusively high-level financial management. It provides a comprehensive blend of services that accomplish our clients' daily accounting needs while working towards a corporate financial goal and mission.


About the Accounting Manager Role

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for BSTGF's clients. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, implementing practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and controls are in place for each client. The Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising a team of accounting specialists to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounting Manager could manage up to 7-12 clients at a time.


This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including month-end close preparation, financial reporting, implementation of new systems and processes, year-end client tax and audit projects, and the support of budget and forecast activities.


Essential Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships

Manage client accounting projects from planning to completion, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met

Develop and implement accounting systems and processes tailored to client needs

Provide financial insights and advisory services to support clients' business decisions

Conduct regular client meetings to discuss financial performance and strategic opportunities

Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting specialists

Assign and review work, providing constructive feedback and guidance

Monitor team workload and project status to ensure efficient resource allocation

Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Participate in and present at board meetings or management meetings

Build a forecast and budget for small to medium clients

Oversee purchase orders, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes, including vendor management, invoice processing, payment approvals, customer invoicing, collections, and strategic financial guidance

Assist with developing standardized procedures and methodologies for clients

Overall day-to-day management of financial reporting accuracy and on-time processing of client information

Produce financial reporting packages on a monthly or quarterly basis

Lead audit and tax return preparation annually

Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting specialists


To be successful in this role, you will bring with you:

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or Associate's Degree with requisite experience

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel to client sites

Proficient knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes

Experience with a CPA firm environment and/or outsourced accounting services

Experience with cloud-based accounting solutions and integrated technology platforms, such as QBO, Sage Intacct, Fund Ez, Net Suite, Workday, etc.

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in managing payroll processes

Capable of building, revamping or improving a month-end close process for small to medium clients.

Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Products (Outlook, Teams, Planner, etc.)

Excellent client relationship management abilities

Strong leadership and team development capabilities

Superior written and verbal communication skills

Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights
