Job description

Position Summary: Safety Officer is responsible to lead AdvanceTEC’s safety program and drive a uniform safety culture and protocol across all projects. This includes updating and keeping current Safety Manual, OSHA training records for all field personnel, hosting safety training modules and generating content to Safety, Project Safety Topics, and monthly company newsletters.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Active Ownership of AdvanceTEC’s Safety Program:
    • Updating and keeping current AdvanceTEC’s safety manual—annually at a minimum.
    • Set standards by which all projects, regardless of profile, will adhere to as best practices.
  • Create Project Specific Safety Content & Documents:
    • Safety Manual
    • Job Hazard Analysis / Work Methods for typical construction activities for each project.
    • Training Modules and Approvals (i.e. walkable ceiling training, lift training, fall protection…).
    • Tool Box Talk Content (weekly across all projects)
    • Site Logistics Plans
  • Training & Onboarding of Safety Leads:
    • Training of contract and direct hire safety leads to AdvanceTEC’s standards and expectations.
  • On-site Inspections and Safety Audits
    • Ensure project safety adherence and performance:
    • Review project site forms and data.
    • Audit projects on an ongoing and regular basis.
  • Subcontractor Safety Programs & Expectations:
    • Engage with subcontractor safety leads to review and audit their programs.
    • Ensure that safety expectations for work on AdvanceTEC projects is known.
  • Future Growth Opportunities:
    • Active role in AdvanceTEC’s overall risk management programs (EMR, COI, Bonding, etc.)


Skills, Experience, and Qualities Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management or Occupational Health & Safety is required.
  • OHSA 30 Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction safety program management project.
  • Vibrant, optimistic, energetic positive person who wants to makes things happen. Team player that can work with leadership team, all personnel, and interact well with clients.
  • Previous experience in industry and or applicable internships required.
  • Skilled in communications (interpersonal skills and written), PROCORE, MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel domestically on a periodic and ongoing basis is required.
