Job description

We are hiring a Construction Safety Coordinator to provide daily field safety oversight on a ground-up data center construction project in the Cartersville, Georgia metro area. This Construction Safety Coordinator role is ideal for a safety professional with 2 to 5 years of commercial construction experience who thrives in fast-paced, multi-trade environments. The position reports to project leadership and serves as the on-site safety resource for all active construction activities.

Key Responsibilities - Construction Safety Coordinator

  • Perform daily site safety inspections, hazard recognition, and field observations across active construction areas including ground-up builds, earthwork, concrete, structural, utility, and fiber optic installation
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with OSHA standards, site safety rules, and client requirements, and assist with toolbox talks, safety orientations, and pre-task planning meetings
  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and work directly with field supervision to correct issues in real time, escalating significant concerns and supporting stop-work actions when imminent hazards exist
  • Assist with incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations including documentation and corrective action tracking using construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam
  • Communicate safety observations, trends, and concerns to project leadership and support coordination of safety activities related to heavy equipment operations, excavations, and utility trenching

Qualifications - Construction Safety Coordinator

  • 2 to 5 years of construction safety experience on commercial or ground-up construction projects
  • Valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
  • Working knowledge of excavation safety, underground utility coordination, fiber optic installation safety, and heavy equipment operations
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and field safety observations
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications - Construction Safety Professional

  • Prior experience on data center, mission-critical, or high-tech construction projects
  • CHST certification or actively working toward certification
