Description:Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the full leadership, operational performance, and guest experience of a Staybridge Suites hotel operating under IHG Hotels & Resorts brand standards.

This is a senior-level hospitality leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional guest satisfaction, strong financial results, and consistent execution of brand standards in a premium extended-stay environment.

Staybridge Suites is positioned as an upscale extended-stay brand, and this role requires a polished, service-driven leader capable of maintaining a high standard of professionalism, operational discipline, and guest engagement.

The General Manager is expected to be highly visible on property, actively engaged in daily operations, and directly responsible for driving service excellence, associate performance, and profitability.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHotel Operations Leadership

• Direct all daily hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, breakfast, evening social (The Social), and maintenance departments.
• Maintain a strong, consistent on-property leadership presence with frequent engagement in public areas and guest interactions.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled and act as final decision-maker on operational matters.
• Ensure seamless execution of all Staybridge Suites brand hallmarks, including complimentary breakfast and evening social programming.
• Conduct daily property walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand compliance at an upscale standard.
• Ensure immediate and effective resolution of guest concerns with a focus on long-stay guest satisfaction and retention.


Guest Experience & Brand Standards

• Deliver a residential-style, upscale extended-stay experience consistent with IHG Hotels & Resorts and Staybridge Suites brand expectations.
• Maintain high guest satisfaction scores and actively manage online reputation.
• Build strong relationships with extended-stay guests, corporate travelers, relocation guests, and long-term project business.
• Ensure consistency and excellence in all guest touchpoints including suites, public areas, and social spaces.


Financial Performance & Revenue Management

• Responsible for hotel profitability including revenue generation, expense control, and labor management.
• Develop and execute annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts.
• Analyze daily and monthly financial performance and adjust operational strategies as needed.
• Maintain accountability for departmental productivity and cost controls.
• Oversee accurate billing, credit compliance, and collection efforts for extended-stay accounts.


Sales & Market Engagement

• Develop and maintain key extended-stay corporate accounts, relocation partnerships, and long-term lodging agreements.
• Conduct regular outside sales calls, property tours, and client engagement meetings.
• Partner with revenue management to optimize occupancy, rate strategy, and long-stay demand channels.
• Represent the hotel in the local business community in alignment with IHG brand positioning.


Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop all hotel associates in accordance with IHG Hotels & Resorts standards and Staybridge Suites service culture.
• Provide consistent coaching, leadership development, and accountability for all department heads.
• Conduct performance reviews, corrective action, and recognition programs.
• Foster a high-performance culture centered on service excellence, ownership, and professionalism.
• Ensure completion and enforcement of all required training through IHG University and brand training platforms.

Property Operations & Quality Assurance

• Maintain the physical condition of the hotel at an upscale standard consistent with Staybridge Suites brand expectations.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and capital improvement planning.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest suites, lobby, breakfast area, fitness center, and social spaces.
• Ensure full compliance with safety, security, and operational standards.


Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure full compliance with IHG brand standards, operational SOPs, and audit requirements.
• Maintain readiness for brand quality audits and operational inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment and safety regulations.
• Provide timely reporting on financial performance, staffing, guest satisfaction, and operational metrics.

Requirements:Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years of General Manager or senior hotel leadership experience preferred • Prior experience in extended-stay or upscale select-service hotel operations strongly preferred • Demonstrated success managing hotel P&L performance • Strong leadership presence with ability to hold teams accountable to high standards • Proven experience driving guest satisfaction and service culture improvement • Knowledge of IHG systems, standards, or brand operations preferred but not required • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Work Environment

This role requires active, on-property leadership in a hospitality environment. The General Manager is expected to be highly visible and engaged in all aspects of hotel operations on a daily basis.
