The Role:

TW Constructors is seeking an experiencedCommissioning Manager to lead and manage commissioning activities for hyperscale data center construction projects. This role sits on the general contractor side, working closely with owners, commissioning agents (CxA), designers, trade partners, and internal project teams to ensure that all mission-critical systems are installed, tested, and turned over in full compliance with contract documents, performance requirements, and client standards.The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Tier III/IV data centers, strong technical knowledge of MEP and critical systems, and the leadership skills to coordinate complex commissioning efforts across fast-paced, large-scale construction programs.



Responsibilities:


  • Lead commissioning planning and execution for hyperscale data center projects from design development through turnover and closeout
  • Serve as the GC's primary point of contact for all commissioning activities
  • Coordinate with Owner, CxA, Design Team, AHJs, and trade partners to align commissioning strategies and schedules
  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and milestones aligned with overall project schedules
  • Review and track commissioning documentation including:
    • Commissioning plans and specifications
    • Pre-functional checklists (PFCs)
    • Functional performance test (FPT) procedures
    • Integrated systems testing (IST) plans
    • O&M manuals and turnover packages
  • Ensure documentation meets contract requirements and owner standards
  • Oversee commissioning activities for mission-critical systems, including:
    • Electrical power distribution (utility, switchgear, UPS, generators, EPMS)
    • Mechanical systems (chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, BAS)
    • Life safety and fire protection systems
  • Validate system readiness prior to testing and ensure deficiencies are tracked and resolved
  • Coordinate and witness functional performance testing and integrated systems testing
  • Manage issue resolution and re-testing efforts to support on-time client turnover
  • Support phased turnovers and early access requirements typical of hyperscale programs
  • Ensure successful substantial completion, final acceptance, and operational handoff
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and MEP Managers to align construction and commissioning efforts
  • Provide clear communication to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across data center programs
  • Travel is required


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study
  • 8+ years of experience in mission-critical construction, with direct commissioning experience on data center projects
  • Proven experience working on the general contractor or EPC side of large-scale construction projects
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electrical and mechanical systems for data centers
    • Commissioning processes, testing protocols, and documentation
    • Integrated systems testing for critical facilities
  • Experience with hyperscale data centers (preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in fast-track construction environments
  • Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), CxA, or equivalent
  • Experience with Tier III or Tier IV data center facilities
  • Familiarity with major hyperscale owner standards and commissioning requirements
  • Strong knowledge of safety, quality control, and risk management practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel or relocate based on project needs
  • Procore certified or working knowledge and skill in Procore
  • BIM 360 certified or working knowledge and skill in BIM 360
  • Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.
