Description
A Safety Coordinator has the ability to learn and complete training in safety procedures, protocols, documentation, OSHA regulations and has wide exposure in the construction industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
โ€ข Ensures daily calendar is up to date.
โ€ข Conducts daily safety meetings.
โ€ข Attends bi-weekly all hands meetings.
โ€ข Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee/employer compliance with safety regulations.
. Investigates incidents to discover root cause and work along with a safety manager when necessary.
. Prepares new or updated Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans.
โ€ข Prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of safety.
โ€ข Ability to learn and use software/systems to report, monitor, and correct safety problems.
โ€ข Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, compliance, and business efficiency.
โ€ข Collaborates with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives and internal safety staff during formal
plant audits and inspections; documents corrective actions taken.
โ€ข Completes monthly vehicle inspection reports.
โ€ข Completes OSHA Academy courses (and Safety Spanish courses if not bilingual in Spanish) and other trainings assigned.

Requirements
โ€ข Associate or four-year college degree.
โ€ข One year safety/construction experience.
โ€ข Certifications; OSHA 30 in Construction, and First Aid/CPR Certificate.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
โ€ข Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
โ€ข Proficient with Microsoft Office.
โ€ข Ability to effectively communicate and conduct trainings.
โ€ข Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
โ€ข Some travel required (30 to 50 percent).
โ€ข Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
