MDX is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Safety Technician to conduct jobsite inspections, deliver safety meetings, and support our clients’ workplace safety programs.

This is a hands-on position—not a desk-only role. We need someone who can recognize hazards, communicate professionally with field crews and supervisors, follow established procedures, and complete accurate reports without constant reminders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field safety inspections at construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and other client locations. Identify unsafe conditions and practices involving PPE, equipment, ladders, fall protection, electrical work, and other site-specific hazards.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports using MDX’s software, including clear photographs, meaningful observations, and complete supporting documentation.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety meetings that are organized, engaging, and relevant to the work being performed. Assist with additional training within your qualifications.
  • Support safety documentation, including safety risk assessments, job safety analyses, training attendance records, and incident information collection as assigned.
  • Communicate findings and follow up with supervisors, clients, and MDX management. Promptly escalate serious hazards and outstanding safety concerns.
  • Manage assigned field schedules and deadlines, follow MDX procedures, and keep reports, records, and client communications organized and current.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in workplace safety, construction, manufacturing, inspections, or a related field.
  • Practical understanding of jobsite hazards, safe work practices, and basic OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to speak confidently with crews and supervisors and provide clear, professional safety guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email, and software to document inspections and complete reports.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned client locations.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and at active jobsites while following required safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.

Preferred: OSHA 10- or 30-hour course completion, relevant safety credentials, and experience conducting inspections or presenting safety topics.

Training and Performance Expectations

Initial training includes field shadowing, toolbox-topic presentations, hazard-recognition exercises, and a 30-day performance evaluation.

Performance will be evaluated on inspection quality, report accuracy, communication, reliability, compliance with MDX procedures, and the ability to work with increasing independence. We value meaningful, site-specific observations—not generic or copied reports.
