Job description

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is a subsidiary of Daifuku North America a group company of Daifuku in Japan - the largest material handling company in the world. Our advanced systems move everything from car bodies at auto plants to luggage at airports to packaged goods at warehouses. We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator.


Safety Coordinator is responsible for the management of the overall safety and health of field employees at project sites, including the following:

  • Works with the project management team to evaluate and drive the work from a safety-focused approach;
  • Regularly monitors employees for safe work practices, advising and correcting work methods when needed
  • Assists in the preparation of Construction project safety plan
  • Conducts daily safety briefings, project safety audits and inspections, including required reports and record-keeping;
  • Conducts, or coordinates as needed, all project Safety training onsite, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lead training and lockout / tag-out.
  • Tracks all training records, and maintains updated list of certifications held by personnel onsite to ensure proper training is received in advance;
  • Conducts Industrial Hygiene assessments of work processes and employees
  • Leads accident/incident investigations in a timely manner and oversees report development

Qualifications/Education:

  • 3+ years of construction experience, bridge or marine work preferred.
  • Four year Degree in Safety, Safety Management or Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or experience equivalent
  • Knowledge of FRA, DOT and OSHA regulations
  • OSHA instructor, CPR / First-Aid trained, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment
  • Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on active construction site outdoors in a variety of climates
  • Travel is required
  • Salary commensurate with experience
