Description

This position assists the Messiah University community members in arriving safely to their intended destinations. The safety escort service was developed to provide a proactive means in promoting personal safety.

$8.00/hour

Special Working Conditions

Hours subject to shift work (7p-12a; 8p-1a) and is dependent upon special events and departmental needs which include night work during the week as well as on a rotating weekend basis.

Escort services are conducted between the hours of dusk to dawn.

Driving Requirements

As mandated by the Director of the Department of Safety and Dispatch Services

Primary Duties

1. Escorts will be conducted via vehicle, bike, or walking.
2. Drivers report to the dispatch office. They are dispatched from there.
3. The driver will acknowledge the request from dispatch and give an estimated time of arrival. Upon arrival, the driver records the time and mileage for each escort.
4. The driver then drives the vehicle to the requested destination, and records the time and mileage again.
5. Drivers remain at destination until person enters the building or vehicle; and then notifies dispatch they are clear
6. Must maintain consistent and reliable attendance
