General Summary of Job Duties; The Safety Diver will be responsible for the safe diving and working environment of the aquarium within Silverton Casino. The Safety Diver will identify the possible hazards, inspect, and maintain equipment, follow diving protocols, adhere to the safety guidelines of the aquarium, and perform other duties as assigned.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Maintain a safe swimming and working environment.
  • Lead Safety diver for shows, swims, events, and maintenance schedules.
  • Deck safety watch for swimming, shows, events and maintenance schedules.
  • Directly involved in any emergency: health, gear, maintenance or otherwise.
  • Pre-set, set and strike of each swim, show or event corresponding to daily cue track.
  • Observe the activity of swims, shows, or events.
  • Observe any pop-up needs: artists, equipment, maintenance, or otherwise.
  • Maintain current cue tracks, Diver Safety Logs, dive and show equipment.
  • The ability to alter cue tracks as shown is required.
  • Handle any emergency equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in the underwater cleaning of the aquarium.
  • Feed, narrate, or act as deck safety for presentations.
  • Safety watch for all "HI LIMIT" Houseboat activities: boating, swimming.
  • Maintain mooring, cleaning, beaching, cleaning inside and out, scraping bottom of houseboat.
  • Transport of food, crew, and supplies to the Houseboat.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regular attendance on all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
  • Arriving on time for all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements:
  • General SCUBA gear maintenance
  • Diving experience of one year as a Divemaster or higher ranking
  • Current CPR, AED, O2 and First Aid certifications
  • Tank VIS certification a plus
  • Able to remove 250# diver from the water.

Required Work Cards:
  • CPR, AED, O2 and First Aid
  • SCUBA Certification of Open Water.
  • Nevada Driver License
  • Identification that establishes identity
  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
