SAFETY DIRECTOR

The safety director implements and maintains Charles Sargent Irrigation Inc's Injury and Illness Prevention Program. The Safety Director is assigned the responsibility of providing technical guidance and services in the field of health and safety needed by Charles Sargent Irrigation Inc.

To fulfill this objective the Safety Director is required to:

  • Provide management at all levels with the information, advice, and assistance needed to formulate Charles Sargent Irrigation's health and safety policy, directives, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist management at all levels in establishing and maintaining a healthful and safe working environment free from unacceptable risks, in conformance with OSHA health and safety guidelines and in compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Monitor operations within Charles Sargent Irrigation Inc. jobsites to ensure that health and safety guidelines are met.
  • Provide information needed to maintain a healthful and safe working environment free from unacceptable risks.
  • Develop and provide general safety education and training programs.
  • Assist in the development of specific job safety training programs.
  • Prepare and maintain Charles Sargent Irrigation's health and safety manual and other documents that relate to safety.
  • Specify proper protective equipment for issuing to employees.
  • Stop hazardous operations where hazard or major property damage is imminent and follow with documented evidence.
  • Maintain a consultant or other resources knowledgeable in all areas of safety to assist the company as needed.
