The Food Safety Auditor is responsible for assessing and ensuring compliance with standards related to food safety, quality, and management systems, such as FSSC 22000 (Food Safety Management System); ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and other food safety standards (Desirable: HACCP, GMP etc.). The auditor conducts 2nd party audits or performs third-party certification audits as required and provides findings /observations as per scope to ensure conformance to the criteria of audit prior to recommendation for the certification, ensuring safe and high-quality food production and distribution. The auditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the organizations continual improvement and meet the objectives and demonstrate their conformance to the requirements of the standards. Further, this role plays a vital part in ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance across industries, contributing to consumer trust and public health.

1. Audit Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and schedule food safety and quality audits based on organizational needs and certification requirements.
  • Conduct thorough on-site and remote audits of food industry production facilities, supply chains, and management systems.
  • Review documentation, records, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable ISO or other standards related to food sector.

2. Standards Compliance Evaluation:

  • Assess the implementation and effectiveness of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Identify non-conformities, areas of improvement, and best practices in alignment with applicable standards.
  • Verify corrective actions and preventive measures taken by organizations.

3. Report Preparation and Presentation:

  • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Communicate audit results to clients, management teams, and stakeholders.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to address non-conformities for satisfactory
  • Stay updated on changes in ISO standards, food safety regulations, and industry trends.
