Job description

Incumbent is an Aviation Safety Assistant (Office Automation) (OA) in a Flight Standards field office. Provides administrative, semi-technical, and clerical related support to the supervisor, or manager, Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASIs), and Administrative Officer.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the FG-7 level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-E, FG/GS-6 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate knowledge of FAR, FAA directives, and various agency and regional policies and procedures governing technical program responsibilities for aviation safety such as compliance and enforcement, aircraft accidents and incidents, written test program, and operator certifications. Has knowledge necessary to interview applicants and determine qualifications for non-complex certificates. Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures used by the office to maintain the office files, reports, logs, and records including SAS data and the Enhanced Flight Standards Automated System (eFSAS).
