Job description

Unarmed Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol

Brownstone Security is seeking Unarmed Security Officers to work a variety of sites and posts. Unarmed Security Officers will, at a minimum, be responsible for observing and reporting activity at the site assigned. Additional duties and responsibilities will be defined in the site-specific post orders.

Responsibilities

  • Be alert and attentive while on duty to ensure personal safety and your ability to observe activities, irrelevant of working environment.
  • Maintaining timely and professional communication (verbal, written, radio) with all staff, leadership, and external contacts.
  • Practice all safety rules and procedures, at assigned post, as established by Brownstone Security to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Report designated activities and irregularities by submitting written and/or verbal reports.
  • Maintaining constant alertness and awareness of surroundings at assigned posts to ensure site safety and security.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all employees, visitors, and vendors, serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Operating and monitoring multiple advanced security systems, including access control & alarm monitoring (e.g., Lenel), visitor management, (e.g., Gateworks), CCTV (e.g., Milestone XProtect), and incident management software (e.g., Smartsheet & Perspective).
  • Utilizing strong computer skills for daily operations, including Windows OS, email management (Outlook and shared mailboxes), and other site-specific software.
  • Effectively using various electronic communication systems such as Slack, multi-line IP phones, radio systems, and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conducting thorough interior and exterior patrols, ensuring all access points are secure and identifying any irregularities or safety concerns, including vehicle patrols to off-site locations.
  • Professionally managing visitor and guest access, including pass creation and verification.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to all incidents, alarms, and emergencies, ensuring leadership is notified quickly and accurately.
  • Producing clear, concise, and accurate written reports for all incidents, activities, and irregularities (Daily Checklists, Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports).
  • Proactively identifying and reporting system issues or malfunctions to ensure timely resolution. (The above duties section is a combination of the original document and your specific requests, infused with details from the training packet)

  • Security Guard Permit as required by state law.
