JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview: 

East Point Academy is seeking an Events & Social Media Coordinator to serve as the official communications liaison between East Point Academy and our community. The Events & Social Media Coordinator will ensure seamless, timely and transparent flow of information. The coordinator will also plan and lead school events throughout the year. This position will also be responsible for all social media platforms our school uses to engage our families and community. 


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Logistics management: Coordinate schedule, needs and vendor contracts for school events.
  • Calendar oversight: Schedule and maintain the master calendar for all school-wide activities and assemblies.
  • Direct event setups, manage timelines, and troubleshoot issues during school events.
  • Content creation: Take photos, shoot videos, and write captions highlighting student and staff achievements.
  • Platform moderation: Monitor comments, answer direct messages, and maintain a safe online community.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Brand consistency: Ensure all posts align with the school district's official voice, logos, and guidelines.
  • Privacy compliance: Cross-reference student media release forms to protect student privacy before posting photos.
  • Newsletter production: Write, design, and distribute weekly newsletters to staff/families. 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Prefer BA degree (in Education, Public Relations or related field)
  • Experience preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with teachers, staff, students and families.
